Collage Club x YSM8 workshops for V&A East at the Great Get Together

A collaboration with YSM8 to develop and deliver an all-ages session for the V&A East tent at The Great Get Together, 2023. Starting with the loose theme of 'collections’, we collated images of our own collections including shells, buttons, embroidery samples and more– pairing them with shapes and papers from the Collage Club studio. Hundreds of children and their families joined us across the day to create their own circular masterpieces to take home and treasure.

Making for Change workshops

A three-part workshop series, commissioned by LCF’s Making For Change programme and delivered to a youth group in east London. Looking at Andy Warhol’s designs for textiles as initial inspiration, participants designed their own patterns and delicious ice creams just like the pop artist had in the 50s and 60s. These artworks were then scanned and made into repeat patterns for the group to incorporate into mood boards. The final session saw the young creatives collaging with the patterns and making wearable headdresses and colourful paper feathers.

‘Symbols of You’ workshop for UCL Art Museum

A drop-in session devised as part of on-going workshop creation for UCL Museums. Using Egyptologist, Margaret Murray’s hieroglyph plaster casts as a source of inspiration, visitors were invited to play with painted papers and create symbols of themselves. Participants identified aspects of their personality, culture and interests that best represented them, then set to work reflecting these elements through pictorial language.
